News & Announcements

Our Winter Concert is Tuesday, February 8th at 7pm
AUDIENCE FAVORITES PART ONE!

Band members are to report at 6 pm and the doors open to the public at 6:30 pm.

Our music is chosen from a poll taken of alumni and audience members. They selected their favorites from the repertoire history of Penncrest High School. Not only was it a great way for alumni and fans of the band to connect, they picked a challenging and exciting program! Composers such as Bach, Shostakovich, and 2006 Penncrest graduate Anthony O'Toole are represented. Styles ranging from Baroque fugues to movie soundtracks to Yakety Sax are in the program. Please come out and enjoy the music-making of the band program.

Some safety protocols:

  • Please wear a mask while in the building.

  • Families are welcome to sit together, but please provide some space between family units in order to make everyone feel comfortable.

  • Band members will continue to wear masks when not performing, use bell covers, and spread out on stage as is appropriate.

Reminder: The concert uniform for Concert Band is as follows: black dress pants or formal skirt, black dress shoes, white tux shirt, black bow tie (PHS can provide).

Wind Ensemble needs a black dress shirt and a red vest, which PHS will provide.

Students who are not in uniform may not be permitted to perform.

Check on the Status of the Uniform!

Now that marching season has come to a close, it is a great time to check on the status of those uniforms!

Use this link below for a digital copy of the instructional care sheet that was given out during fittings.

Please take a few moments to review this helpful information with your student to make sure your child's uniform is receiving the proper care it deserves.

Important Points to Remember:

  1. Do not allow any part of the uniform to be stored wet or dirty.

  2. The uniform should always be stored outside of the garment bag to air out; bags are for travel only. (Trust me. You'll be doing everyone a huge favor by doing this!)

  3. Brush off dry dirt before cleaning; then, spot clean with a sponge dampened with cold water and detergent. (Shout or OxiClean can be used. Do not use chlorine-based products.)

  4. If dry cleaning becomes necessary, the uniform needs to go to Swift Cleaners in Aston. (They are familiar with our uniforms and the appropriate cleaning method to be used.)

Please refer to the sheet for more details, such as instructions for cleaning shakos and gauntlets (wipe 'em down and air 'em out!).

If you have questions, or if you are having any problems with your uniform, please reach out to Jen Schmidt at jschmidt3610@gmail.com.

Thank you!
