Meet the Instructors

Tony DeSantis

Since receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from the University of the Arts, Tony has been active in the Philadelphia music scene for over forty years.

Tony is currently playing with the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Pennsylvania Philharmonic Big Band, The Eleventet, the Captain Black Big Band, the Larry McKenna Jazz Orchestra, City Rhythm Orchestra, Earl Phillips Big Band and Chico’s Vibe.

Dr. Neil Wetzel

Dr. Neil Wetzel is Professor of Music, Chair of the Music Department, and the Director of Jazz Studies at Moravian University (Bethlehem, PA). He is also the Director of Big Bands at the Karel Velebny Summer Jazz Workshop (Czech Republic). Performing credits include the Water Gap Jazz Orchestra, the Phil Woods Celebration Saxophone Quartet and the Rob Stoneback Big Band.

Tony Marino

Bassist Tony Marino began his professional music career as the house bass player at clubs and resorts in the Pocono and Catskill Mountains accompanying a myriad of well-known entertainers. His versatility and wide range of musicality has afforded him opportunities to accompany and record with numerous artists from folk to pop to jazz.

Tony Deangelis

Tony Deangelis, born in Reading, PA began his study of drums at age six and joined his first working trio at age nine. After high school, Tony went to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. There he played with today’s top jazz musicians including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Larry Grenadier, Geoff Keezer, and Roy Hargrove.

Tony Miceli

Jazz vibraphonist Tony Miceli has established himself as one of the primary voices on the mallet instrument. A sought-after recording artist, Miceli is an inspired educator who delivers vibraphone master classes the world over.
